Hampton Roads Educators Credit Union awarded four scholarships to two local high school seniors and two school employees during our 70th Annual Meeting.
Congratulations to the following 2024 recipients of HRECU Scholarships:
$1,000 Career Development Scholarship
Jenna Garris will graduate from Windsor High School. She plans to attend Paul D. Camp Community College for her Associates Degree before going on to attend a four-year university to complete her bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
$1,000 Laura Twyford Memorial Scholarship
Mia Paige Shirey will graduate from Kecoughtan High School. She plans to attend Virginia Commonwealth University to pursue a career as an Elementary Teacher for grades 3, 4 or 5.
$1,500 Masters of Education Scholarship
Sevie Hodges is a School Counselor at Phoebus High School. She is pursuing an Ed.S (Education Specialist) in Counseling degree at Old Dominion University.
$1,500 Educational Advancement Scholarship
Jennifer Alejandro is a Kindergarten Instructional Assistant at Langley Elementary School in Hampton. She is pursuing an Associates Degree in Social Science at Virginia Peninsula Community College.
