Common Cyber Threats to Watch For:

  • Phishing Attacks
    • Fake emails, texts, or phone calls pretending to be from HRECU or another trusted source.
  • Red flags:
    • Urgent requests for your account info
    • Links that don’t match the official URL
    • Unexpected attachments

How to Protect Yourself:

  • Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
    • Add an extra layer of protection to your online banking by requiring a second step to log in, like a one-time code via text.
  • Set Up Account Alerts
    • Get notified immediately about suspicious activity or large transactions.
  • Use Strong Passwords
    • Combine uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols. Avoid using real words or names.
    • Never reuse passowrds.
  • Log Out of Shared Devices
    • Always log out of your banking session, especially on public or shared devices.
  • Secure Your Wi-Fi
    • Use a strong password and WPA3 encryption on your home network. Never bank over public Wi-Fi without a VPN.
